You are at :: : Static Measuring Devices

Instrumentation to measure static electricity can be as simple as handheld fieldmeters or sophisticated as ongoing process control tools and monitors that are computer interfaced to store static readings over periods of time. For example, as a process control tool, the static probes could monitor static in explosive rated environment to know when static is reaching dangerous level that may cause explosions or fires. For the Electronics Industry, where low levels of static can destroy or degrade a device, instrumentation such as voltmeters will aid in evaluating the process and material choices allowable in proximity to the process.

262A Surface Resistivity Meter
Model 262A provides convenient, accurate testing of resistance/resistivity of products ranging from ESD shielding bage to static dissipative mats to conductive work surfaces. The LED decade display minimizes the chance of reader error. Resistivity (W / n ) is measured by placing the 262A’s parallel electrode rails completely in contact with a flat sample. The geometry of the electrode assembly is such that current flow from one rail, across the sample, to the other rail is a direct indication of the sample’s resistivity, which is read on the LED display. In the resistance-measuring mode, current flows from ground through the resistive material to the measurement electrode.

275A Ground System Tester
The Model 275A measures the resistance of personnel grounding systems (wrist straps and heel straps) and work area grounding systems (table mats and floor mats), and indicates if the resistance is high (open), low (hazard), or within acceptable limits to control damage to sensitive components due to electrostatic discharges. Testing is as easy as pushing the test button and observing the color-coded indicator lights. The safe operating limit can be set at 10M or 100M ohms using a switch on the front of the instrument. The instrument is supplied with a ground cord. An optional leather carrying case is available
