Resistively Coupled Charging Bars are used when materials need to be temporarily bonded to each other or to different materials including metals in various manufacturing applications. Some of these applications, which are common include Converting, Printing, Bindery, In-Mold Labeling, Roll Changeover on Winders, Laminating and Bonding of multiple webs, Edge Pinning, Card Stacking and a host of other applications that require induced static to assist in the process. In many instances, the StaticBond Charging Bar with integral resistors are mounted in proximity to metal machine frame parts. Energy is always look for ground or a material that is at a lower potential. When using the SBCB4000 series charging bars, the energy placed on the emitter pins or needles from the Charging Power Supply is reduced to below spark over levels. This contributes to reduced electrical noise, greater safety features and efficiency of the process.
For most static charging applications, the charging bar is installed at a distance of 10-20 mms from the material to be charged. A slotted channels along the back of charging bars provides an easy and safe installation by using the plastic mounting studs that come standard with each charging bar. Bolt size dimensions on the mounting hardware is M8x60.
